PANELIST BIOS:

Jeannie Ericson
Jeannie Ericson has spent her entire career helping clients make the most of leading edge technologies -- from the early days of "multimedia" to early internet sites to integration of web sites and back office applications to Web 2.0 and finally social media tools.  Most of her career was with IBM marketing and the Innovation Center for web development as a consultant and project manager, but she also spent five years as the internal new media consultant for The Coca-Cola Company.  This year Jeannie joined Public Broadcasting Atlanta to lead the "LENS on Atlanta" initiative to establish an on-line community for metro Atlanta.  LENS will provide a platform of social networking tools for citizens of Atlanta and will engage elected officials of our region as well as civic institutions.  The goal for LENS is to be a place for citizens to connect, share, and make a positive difference in our Atlanta community.  The LENS initiative is a new concept and business venture for PBA.

Tony Conway
Tony Conway is the Development Director of the Atlanta Children’s Shelter. The Atlanta Children’s Shelter provides NAEYC-accredited early childcare and comprehensive social services guiding homeless families to self-sufficiency.  Prior to his current role, Tony served as Development Director at Candler School of Theology, Emory University and Senior Marketing Manager at the Atlanta Community Food Bank.

Tony is a regular guest lecturer at Georgia State University on poverty, homelessness and families; a guest panelist for the Atlanta Women’s Foundation on poverty and early childcare, and is the most sought after United Way Campaign guest speaker each fall.  Tony has 10 years of experience in development and fundraising, and nearly 30 years of experience in volunteering in social services, primarily serving the homeless community. His service has included meals on wheels, in hospices, in soup kitchens, building habitat houses, in feeding programs in shelters, in children’s hospitals, church basements and organizing volunteer programs.

Tony is an active volunteer organizing events and serving the homeless through Kashi Atlanta.  Through his service work and as a certified yoga teacher teaching yoga in its classical depth, Tony is working to create a compassionate community.
